Split lock washers, also known as spring lock washers, are designed for use with compatible nuts and bolts. They feature offset split ends that lock into the mating material once tightened beneath the nut. Split lock washers function similarly to a spring. When a bolt drives into an object with a split washer, it simultaneously pushes back against the mating surfaces. They distribute the load more evenly to help prevent nuts and bolts from coming loose due to vibration. The hot dip galvanized finish provides great corrosion resistance for exterior applications.
